Excellent properties of Al-Mg-Si-Zn
1. Corrosion resistance
The Mg component in the coating helps to form and maintain a film-like coating on the coating surface, making the coating have good corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of aluminum-magnesium plates and galvanized plates is 5-12 times higher than that of galvanized plates.
2. Self-healing performance
During the cutting process of the steel plate, the coating on the surface will gradually dissolve and gradually cover the cutting surface during the cutting process, thereby promoting the formation of a relatively stable protective film. In the initial stage, the parts exposed to the outside will be rusted, and a protective film will be formed on the section to prevent subsequent corrosion.
Coated products containing magnesium and aluminum elements, due to the fluidity of magnesium elements, make it form a dense protective film at the incision over time, which improves the corrosion resistance; the results show that after the end of the experiment, the surface of the galvanized layer is only A sparse porous overlay is formed and there is no overlay.
3. Wear resistance
It has a low coefficient of friction, and stable friction characteristics, which is very beneficial for stamping and can also reduce the amount of coating loss, thereby reducing the defect of picking parts.
4. Good weldability
During laser welding, the addition of magnesium can reduce the spatter of the weldment and improve the welding performance of the weldment.
5. Good coating performance
The paintability of galvanized aluminum-magnesium steel sheets is basically the same as that of pure zinc sheets. It can be electrophoresed, sprayed afterward, and can also be used as a raw material for color coatings. Because it is excellent in resisting corrosion under film, it can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of coated products.
