Overview of cold-formed steel:
Cold-formed steel is a variety of complex cross-section profiles made from hot-rolled or cold-rolled strip steel and processed by pressure at room temperature. Also known as thin-walled steel, it is a type of lightweight building structural steel.
The production history has been more than 100 years. It was initially produced with a single bending press and later developed into a continuous roll bending forming unit. It developed rapidly after 1960, with the world's annual output reaching 8 million tons, and each industrially developed country accounting for about 5% of the total steel output.
Characteristics of cold-formed steel: Economical cross-section lightweight thin-walled steel, also known as steel cold-formed profiles or cold-formed profiles. It is the main material for making lightweight steel structures. It has various ultra-thin sections with reasonable and complex shapes and has a larger radius of gyration and section moment of inertia than hot-rolled steel. Compared with ordinary steel structures, it can save about 30% to 50% of steel. It is an economical cross-section steel.  
Wide range of uses: In production sectors such as construction, railway vehicles, automobiles, and ships, it is mostly used to make structural parts and auxiliary parts.
