Quality inspection of straight seam welded pipe

Longitudinal welded pipes will undergo a systematic inspection from raw materials to welding to finished products to ensure the quality of each link. After the steel pipe is welded, the first ultrasonic flaw detection (mainly the flaw detection of the weld seam and the base metal on both sides), the first X-ray flaw detection (to ensure the sensitivity of the flaw detection), the expansion and the hydraulic test (the timing of the hydraulic test is automatically recorded) ). Qualified straight-seam steel pipes will undergo the second ultrasonic flaw detection, the second X-ray flaw detection, and the magnetic particle flaw detection of the pipe end to complete the whole processing process.

1. X-ray flaw detection: X-ray flaw detection is a flaw detection method that uses the characteristics of penetrating and attenuating substances to find defects. X-ray flaw detection is mainly used to detect defects such as cracks, incomplete penetration, pores, and slag inclusions in welded pipes.

2. Ultrasonic flaw detection: In the propagation of metal and other uniform media, due to the reflection on the interface of different media, it can be used to detect internal defects. Ultrasound can detect defects in any welding material and any part and can find the location of defects more sensitively. Still, it is difficult to determine the nature, shape, and size of defects. Therefore, ultrasonic flaw detection of longitudinal seam welded pipes is often used in conjunction with radiographic flaw detection.
