What Is JCOE Pipe?

Straight seam double-sided submerged arc welded pipe is JCOE pipe. Straight seam steel pipe is classified into two types based on the manufacturing process: high frequency straight seam steel pipe and submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipe JCOE pipe. Submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes are classified as UOE, RBE, JCOE, LSAW steel pipes, and so on based on their forming methods. The JCOE pipe manufacturing process is straightforward, with high production efficiency, low costs, and rapid development.

JCOE pipe is one of the straight seam steel pipe forming methods, as well as one of the equipment. In China, GB/T3091-2008 and GB/T9711.1-2008 are widely used, while API-5L is the international standard. JCOE pipe is primarily manufactured using double-sided submerged arc welding. To meet the requirements of relevant standards, the products go through multiple processes such as bending, jointing, internal welding, external welding, straightening, and flat ends.

Large-scale pipeline projects, water and gas transmission projects, urban pipeline network construction, steel structure buildings, bridge piling, municipal construction, and urban construction all use JCOE pipe.

Weight formula: [(outer diameter-wall thickness)*wall thickness]*0.02466=kg/m (weight per meter).

Q235A, Q235B, 16Mn, 20#, Q345, L245, L290, X42, X46, X70, X80, 0Cr13, 1Cr17, 00Cr19Ni11, 1Cr18Ni9, 0Cr18Ni11Nb, and other materials are commonly used.

No folds, cracks, delamination, lap welding, arc breaking, burn-through, or other local defects whose depth exceeds the lower deviation of wall thickness are permitted on the inner and outer surfaces of JCOE straight seam steel pipes. Other local defects with a depth that does not exceed the lower deviation of wall thickness are permitted.
