The Introduction To The Maintenance Knowledge Of Galvanized Coils

As a building material widely used in various environments, galvanized coil has a long anti-corrosion life. The following is an introduction to the maintenance knowledge of galvanized coils:

Anti-corrosion life:
In suburban environments, standard galvanized rust-resistant coatings can last over 50 years without maintenance.
In urban areas or offshore areas, standard galvanized anti-rust coatings can last up to 20 years without maintenance.

Thickness requirements:
Under normal working conditions, when the thickness of the galvanized layer of the galvanized coil is greater than 50um, it can be used safely for 30 years. This is based on the anode protection principle of the iron matrix.

Protection against humid environments:
In humid environments, measures should be taken such as applying asphalt or sealing grooves to isolate the direct contact between the medium and the zinc layer to prevent corrosion and perforation of the zinc layer.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
The surface of galvanized coils should be cleaned and maintained regularly, using professional sprays and cleaning tools.
Be careful when cleaning to avoid scratching the surface and maintain its gorgeous appearance and durability.

White rust treatment:
White rust does not necessarily indicate severe damage to the zinc coating, but it should be inspected quickly.
For slight white rust, you can wipe it off with a dry cloth to avoid hindering the formation of the protective film in a humid environment.

Storage environment:
High humidity and acid-alkaline environments are not good for storage. It is recommended to store galvanized coils in a dry and clean room.

Precautions:
Avoid using solvents to scrub the surface to avoid loss or separation of the phosphate coating.
Avoid oil and other dirt from adhering to avoid damaging the properties.
The high degree of production and processing may damage the zinc layer, so confirmation is required before application.
Storing thick steel plates for a long time may lead to reduced production and processing characteristics and tensile deformation. It is recommended to implement this as soon as possible.
Through reasonable care and maintenance, the service life of galvanized coils can be extended and ensure that they can exert good anti-corrosion performance in different environments.
