PPGI steel coil is a building material that is surface-treated and coated with an organic coating and then baked and solidified. It is widely used in construction, home appliances, transportation, furniture, and other industries. This article will introduce in detail the production process of color-coated steel coils.
Substrate selection
The base materials of color-coated steel coils mainly include cold-rolled steel sheets and galvanized sheets. When selecting a substrate, factors such as its performance characteristics, thickness, flatness, etc. need to be considered to ensure the quality and use effect of color-coated steel coils.
Surface treatment
The substrate is first surface-prepared to prepare it for the next step of coating. Surface treatment processes include oil removal, pickling, alkali cleaning, phosphoric acid treatment, and other processes. These processes can effectively remove impurities such as dirt and iron oxide scale on the surface of the substrate while improving the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the substrate surface.
Coating production
After surface treatment, the substrate needs to be sent to the coating production line for coating. The coating production process includes three stages: primer, top coat, and varnish. In the primer process, epoxy, polyester, and other primers are generally used for coating. In the top coating process, the main focus is on color selection and appearance effects. PVDF, PE, HDP, and other resins are used as coating materials so that the color-coated steel coils have different colors and glossiness on the surface. The varnish step is mainly to increase the gloss of the coating and improve the antifouling performance.
Solidify
After the coating is completed, the PPGI steel coil needs to be baked and cured. During the baking and curing process, the color-coated steel coil is fed into a high-temperature oven, and different temperatures and times are set according to the selected materials. Through curing, the coating material can be fully reacted and cross-linked, thereby improving the weather resistance, hardness, adhesion, and other performance indicators of the color-coated steel coil.
Cutting and packaging
After the above process, the color-coated steel coils need to be cut and packaged. Cutting mainly involves cutting color-coated steel coils into required sizes according to customer needs and product specifications. Packaging involves packaging the cut color-coated steel coils to avoid external contamination and damage.
