How To Prevent Galvanized Sheet From Rusting?

Due to the protection of the zinc layer, the galvanized sheet has good rust resistance. Common sites of corrosion are notches, which are brown-red rust spots, or white rust if the coating is oxidized. In order to avoid corrosion at the cut, a layer of paint can be applied to the cut. Our anti-rust oil for galvanized sheet is formulated with environment-friendly solvent as the carrier and added with various anti-rust agents. The anti-rust oil will evaporate quickly, leaving a thin soft film on the metal surface, which can be easily removed during use. The oil has excellent rust and salt spray resistance on ferrous metals. Anti-rust time can be adjusted according to customer requirements. Suitable for rust prevention of carbon steel, copper, aluminum, stainless steel and other metal materials.

After the galvanized sheet is cut into the shape and structure required by the customer with a mold, the cut part is the cut part. The material of the cut part is steel, the cut part has lost its zinc coating. After a while, there will be problems with rust on the cutouts. Why do cuts rust? Steel is an iron-carbon alloy whose main component is iron. Iron loses electrons easily, depending on its chemical properties. In general, rust is the oxidation of iron to form iron oxide. The corrosion of steel in near-neutral humid air belongs to oxygen absorption corrosion.

The notch of the galvanized sheet workpiece is the base material of the material, which is generally cold rail steel or hot rail steel, which is easy to oxidize and rust. The customer's requirement for the product is generally that there should be no oil pollution, and the anti-rust period should be extended to meet the standard. Therefore, we only consider dry anti-rust products that do not leave surface stains. We recommend using a water-based rust preventive. Water-based rust inhibitors are listed in the Metal Protection series but are listed separately. The product is a water-based, colorless or pale yellow liquid. It can be dissolved in water in any proportion.

The galvanized layer is applied to the steel surface. At this time, the liquid (sulfite or carbonic acid, etc.) formed by corrosive gases in the atmosphere only comes into contact with zinc and undergoes an electrical reaction with zinc. Zinc is corroded in the electrochemical reaction. When cleaning the zinc coating, the iron surface will be corroded. At this point, the protection of the zinc coating ends. Therefore, the thickness of the galvanized layer is an important parameter. When there are pores or defects in the zinc coating, the acidic aqueous solution in the atmosphere will enter the interface between the steel and the zinc coating along the pores or defects. At this point, the zinc-ferric acid solution forms a complete battery.

Galvanized sheet generally has strict requirements on the storage environment. Generally speaking, the storage environment of galvanized sheets should not be ventilated, the humidity should not be too high, and generally should not be exposed to dew. When transporting the galvanized sheet, it is recommended to pad some wood under the galvanized sheet to avoid abrasion on the surface of the galvanized sheet.
