How Do You Weld Square Tubing?

1. When the welding wire swings, it should stop for a while on both sides of the groove, and the thickness of each layer of the zigzag strip is not more than 4mm.
2. Appropriate arc striking and arc quenching plates should be installed at both ends of the butt joint. For plate seams with grooves, especially for multi-pass welds of thick plates, the welding wire should stop for a while on both sides of the groove when swinging, and the zigzag movement should be used. The thickness of each layer of the strip is not more than 4mm so that the welding seam can be well fused. According to the diameter of the welding wire, the conductive tip of the welding wire should be correctly selected, and the extension length of the welding wire should be controlled within the range of 10 times the diameter of the welding wire.
3. The wire feeding hose must be pulled smoothly during welding and cannot be twisted, and the radius of the wire feeding hose should not be less than 150mm. Before welding, the impure gas remaining in the air supply hose should be discharged. After the conductive tip is worn, the hole diameter will increase, causing the welding to be unstable, and the conductive resistance needs to be replaced.
4. Requirements for welding of square tubes: The welding wire is selected according to the steel type of the welded structure. For carbon steel and low-alloy high-strength steel, the welding wire that meets the mechanical performance requirements is mainly selected according to the principle of "equal strength matching".
According to the welding position on-site corresponding to the thickness of the workpiece to be welded, select the diameter of the welding wire used, determine the current value used, and refer to the product introduction materials and operating experience of each manufacturer to select the welding wire grade suitable for the welding position and the current user.
According to the quality requirements (especially impact toughness) of the parts to be welded, the selection of welding wire is related to welding conditions, groove shape, the mixing ratio of shielding gas, and other process conditions. On the premise of ensuring the performance of welded joints, it is necessary to choose to maximize welding efficiency and reduce the welding cost of welding materials.
