Canton Fair Trade Bridge Delegation Visits Yuantai Derun in Tianjin

Tianjin, 17 September 2026 - A delegation of international buyers visited the Tianjin plant of Yuantai Derun Steel Pipe Group on Thursday, as part of the Canton Fair's "Trade Bridge – China Industry Tour" programme. The visit ran from the company's exhibition hall in the morning to a matchmaking session in the afternoon, where four companies opened one-to-one partnership talks.

A national programme, a regional stop

"Trade Bridge – China Industry Tour" is organised by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the institution behind the Canton Fair, and delivered in Tianjin together with the Tianjin Municipal Commerce Bureau. The programme is built around a simple idea: move overseas buyers out of the exhibition hall and onto the factory floor.

Officials attending the Tianjin session included Zhu Yong, Director-General of the China Foreign Trade Centre; Li Jian, Deputy Director-General of the Tianjin Municipal Commerce Bureau; and Cao Jie, Director of the Foreign Trade Development Division of the Tianjin Municipal Commerce Bureau.

From the showroom to the production line

The delegation began at the group's exhibition hall, where square, rectangular and large-diameter pipe samples were presented alongside project references. Two production lines were then opened for inspection: the 500 mm large-diameter square tube mill, and the JCOE line producing LSAW pipe from Ø406 mm up to Ø1420 mm.

Visitors filmed and photographed both lines. That detail matters more than it sounds - most of what a buyer actually verifies at a plant cannot be read off a specification sheet.

What the visitors came to check

Yuantai Derun operates 56 production lines with an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes, and holds a 24.3% share of China's structural steel pipe market. The group is a national-level manufacturing single champion demonstration enterprise.

Its pipe is certified to ISO 9001, CE EN 10219 / EN 10210 and API, with classification society approvals from BV, DNV, ABS and LR. Structural steel pipe from the group has been used in the Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest), Daxing International Airport and the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge.
